Castor and Pollux Natural UltraMix Dog Cookies

When You Want the Best for Your Dog, Choose These!

At first glance, these dog treats really don't seem to be anything special. They appear to be your typical, sort of generic-looking bone shaped tan biscuit, but that's where the similarity to grocery-store biscuits ends. The packaging is your first hint that these treats are something special. The bag proudly proclaims "No Wheat" in large letters. This can be important, as wheat can trigger allergic sensitivities in many dogs that make themselves known with a serious case of itchy skin. Many a pet owner has thought their dog had fleas when instead, the animal cannot tolerate wheat. Corn can also be a problem for some dogs, and Castor and Pollux UltraMix cookies are also corn free.

Reading further on the attractive package, you can see that this product also contains no by-products. This is as important for our pet's well being as it is for our own. Who wants to eat a smorgasbord of ingredients that you can't even pronounce? I don't, and I don't think it's healthy for my dog, either. What is healthy are natural, holistic ingredients for man - or beast. You and your dog will appreciate the organic apples, carrots, flaxseed, yogurt and cranberries baked into each crunchy cookie. The product comes in two flavors. You can choose from peanut butter or cheese flavors to add variety to your pet's diet.

The superior quality of these dog cookies can speak for itself, but the real test is, of course, whether or not dogs will eat them. No matter how wholesome the ingredients, if your pet turns up his nose at the food, it won't benefit him, nutritionally or otherwise. I can tell you that my dog acted as if I were feeding her prime rib when I offered her one of the UltraMix peanut butter flavor dog cookies. She ate it so quickly that I do believe she swallowed it whole! Small dogs, like mine, need to make every bite of food count toward their daily nutritional needs. There is no room for junk food dog treats when your dog is a toy sized breed!

Also, a high quality dog treat or food means that more of the food is used by your dog. Higher digestibility equals smaller, firmer stools, which helps out a great deal with house training. Feeding organic foods also can lessen the total amount of food your dog needs each day, which makes the somewhat higher price of these foods reasonable when compared to other dog foods. Let's say two cups of dry food is your dog's daily requirement. Less than half of that amount would more than likely be sufficient when feeding a natural, holistic food. When you do the math, you'll find it's often cheaper to use the better, more expensive food. The same reasoning applies to treats. More nutrition in a dog treat equals more for your money. Pets are expensive, so why not give your wallet a break as well as feed your dog a treat that will be good for him or her?

Castor and Pollux is a company that is dedicated to the well being of pets through organic nutrition. I'm a firm believer that their products will help to give my dog a healthier and longer life.
