Cat Adopts Abandoned Baby Panda

According to yahoo news, a red panda of Artis Zoo of the Netherlands, who gave birth to two cubs on June 30, abandoned her babies immediately after they were born. However, a zoo-keeper's cat, which already has four kittens, adopted the baby pandas and is suckling them.

One of the panda babies, who was too weak, died on Thursday. The other one is doing well, according to a spokesperson of Artis Zoo. The panda cub will feed cat's milk for three weeks before she will start eating bamboo shoots.

The cub has not been named yet. According to zoo authorities, the person who will sponsor the panda will be allowed to name her.

The red panda is an endangered species commonly found in eastern Himalayan region.

Generally, red pandas are found in China, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Burma. It is little bigger than domestic cat and have stripped tail. This animal is shy in nature.
