Cat Bounty

In Randolph Iowa

Shame on Randolph!

Animals are not to blame. Humans are to blame. Most of the stray cats are the result of people failing to spay and neuter their domesticated felines. Randolph should fine those owners not pay bounty to residents willing to capture strays likely to be killed. Too often animals are discarded because they require too much care, money and time. Owners need to be responsible and spay/neuter their cats and keep them inside. A domesticated cat is a house cat.

If Randolph proceeds with this inhumane plan, the cat population will decrease. Then, the residents will complain about an overpopulation of mice. Will they kill those creatures too? Then, there will be an overpopulation of predator birds. Will they kill the hawks and owls? I could go on, but you get the idea.

Humans need to stop inappropriately interfering with nature's cycle; otherwise, Randolph will become a town simply filled with people, unkind people. Would you want them as neighbors?
