Cat Toys to Make Any Kitty's Life Exciting

Feline Fun: New Cat Toys for Playful Cats

Linda Louise Johnson
Why your cat needs cat toys to fight boredom.

Is your kitty is a stalker with nothing to stalk? A hunter with no prey? (Except for the dust bunnies you keep sweeping up.) Now you can fix that with cat toys that present irresistible challenges, alluring rewards, and lots of 'catisfaction'. Come on, bring out your cat's Inner Hunter with these new cat toys.

The Peek-a-Prize cat toy box: This sturdy all-wooden box has tantalizing cat toys and treats that peek out at your cat. Let kitty paw, pounce and hunt until the toys roll out. Cat owners say cats are more intrigued by the interactive box than the toys they fish out. You can quickly reload the box and let your kitty do it again. The fun is in the chase. Box comes with two toys, and replacement balls are available. Small toy box, 10" square, $24.99; Large toy box, 13 ½ " square, $29.99. Replacement balls (3 pack) 2.99. Click here to see pictures and to order.

The Swatical: This cat toy is a wobbler! Kitty bats it and it bounces back, because it's weighted. He swats, he attacks, and this feathery thing just keeps on rocking and waving its colorful feathers in the air. They're securely attached by an elastic cord, so the fun will be long lasting. All the motion keeps kitty playing and active. Works on any hard flooring. 2-1/2" diameter base x 8" high, durable plastic construction. $4.49. See pictures and order here.

Mouse Fun Beam, a Laser Light cat toy. Point the laser beam, and off cats go. Kitties love to chase this interactive beam which moves as unpredictably as real prey. Shaped like a cute mouse, this hand-held kitty toy comes with two sets of batteries. 100% of buyers would recommend it. Petlinks™ System Fun Beam™ internet price, $4.47. Fling-ama-String cat toy. They call it the "lean, mean string-flinging machine." Cats love this battery operated string cat toy. Hang it on any doorknob, turn it on and it starts flinging string. Kitty will be leaping, stalking, and pouncing. Even ol' Lazy Cat will be enticed to come and play. The toy has two speeds for extra fun. And in case your kitty needs to work on eye-paw coordination the Fling-ama-String is just the thing. No assembly required. Requires 3 AA batteries (not included). (Get rechargeables, as the regular ones don't last that long. ) Click here to buy it for $25.99 at Cat Toys.com or click here to buy it at Amazon for $23.99.

I'm sure my cats would love all of these, but I wouldn't recommend anything with a cord or string unless play is strictly supervised. Once cats start swallowing, they can't stop, and string can cause serious--even--fatal problems. My rescue group just had a very bad scare with one of our cats because of this.

Cats are easily amused! Mine used to like black olives, they'd bat them around for hours, before eating them!

Some of these look really neat and I'll have to see if my "girls" agree!

My Rocky loves anything we don't want him to touch. If he doesn't get attention, all the papers on the desk go flying at his hand. He also LOVES to type. I was thinking of getting him his own keyboard as a cat toy. Jessee loves anything that involves setting down, petting and food.
