In the new expansion cloth armor and plate armor (and everything in between) are going to protect the player on a more even level. Now I know clothies are going to be happy about this but if cloth armor is going to protect a player as much as plate then what is the point in having different types of armor. Why not put everyone in similar looking armor with different stats on each? Also now that cloth armor will protect just as well as plate will clothies repair bills become similar to that of the plate wearer? I don't think I have ever heard a priest or mage complain about 95 gold repairs yet I hear it quite regularly from the plate wearers.
So what do you think? Should clothies have the same protection as tanks wearing plate and if they do would you expect to see similar repair bills for armor across the board?

Post a CommentActually to clarify this post is some what inaccurate, as when they mentioned about armor being "similar" that includes all self buffs. The reason for this is because of some like Priest's inner fire putting them up to a mail wearer equiv, while offering much higher survivability. The armor will offer different armor amounts as always, only they will vary slightly from what most are used to as this time self buffs will be factored into the formula.
Since I wrote this they have clarified that prices will be the same but durability will be equal across the board according to the latest patch notes which can be found here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html
