After a nice little James' 1970's dance number encouraged by Adam Sandler the angel the presenters began to appear. From Olympic Snowboard gold medalist Shaun White, Robert Downey Jr. from Iron Man, Chris Rock with a rugged "just rolled out of bed" look on David Spade, and much more.
The night had many great events, but when it came to unusual music layouts Rihanna's robotic dancers ranked high in kid popularity. Standing taller than the already heightened Rihanna the robots moved across the stage and even made a Rihanna sandwich with Rihanna in the middle between grooves.
Teen idol Justin Bieber also did a little number that made the girls cry, for all the right reasons. Even famous model and talk show host Tyra Banks was dancing around in her red dress singing along, or trying to.
When it came to special talent famous Will Smith couldn't be prouder of his son Jaden. Jaden did a number with Jackie Chan to promote their new Karate Kid movie. With daddy in the audience with the family Jaden did moves and flips assisted by Jackie Chan. Bravo! However, Jaden could work on his kicking skills when it comes to being destructive to podiums.
Another famous face in the audience? Bow wow wow! Even Snoop Dog made time to take his family to the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards.
The orange Blimp Awards went to New Moon's Taylor Lautner for Favorite Movie Actor, Dylan Sprouse for Favorite TV Actor, Selena Gomez for Favorite TV Actress, iCarly for Favorite TV Show, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2009 release for Favorite Movie, Ryan Sheckler for Favorite Male Athlete, Danica Patrick for Favorite Female Athlete, and the Black Eyed Peas for Favorite Music Group.
The first lady scored the gold Blimp Big Help Award for assisting in childhood health. I thought my elementary school teacher would get it, but guess not. With a shirt of plaid type color green on one side with another color form on the sleeve, Mrs. Obama did remind me of my teacher after all, in a 70's Brady way.
But the one moment that no one could forget was the classic fall of Katy Perry while presenting the award for Favorite Movie Actress Miley Cyrus. She got so slimed she fell. She's most likely not going to slip into a lawsuit, she knew what she was in for, or did she?
The Kid's Choice Awards had designed their show using multiple gift boxes to present the winning name. A well staged event indeed.
As Kevin James tried to do what he could to lift the rate-o-meter by the end of the night he succeeded, beyond awesome!
