Catch Up with 'The Game'

Season 4 Premieres on BET

Drew Taylor
The CW shook things up by axing "The Game" in 2009. BET negotiated a deal and promised new episodes on its network. It was not a good sign when "The Game" stars Coby Bell and Pooch Hall became series regulars on "Burn Notice" and "Accidentally on Purpose," respectively. But a new episode of "The Game" finally premiered on Jan. 11. (A repeat of the season four premiere airs Friday night.)

Nearly two years later, the show picks up the previous plotlines and all the core actors are back. Here is a brief overview of how we last saw the Saber football family in 2009.

Tasha Mack
After Tasha and Kelly have a disagreement at work, she seeks revenge by introducing Jason to Camille and nudging the two together. Tasha finally shows some vulnerability as she struggles with her relationship with Rick Fox. It turns out he is a mama's boy as well and she goes head to head with his mother, played by Penny Marshall.

Malik Mack
Malik gets more distance from his mother and marries Robin Givens. He later realizes she is only using him for publicity. Malik's mystery father also appears.

Kelly and Jason Pitts
The couple splits up over Jason's drug abuse. Kelly takes their daughter, Brit Brat, and moves into a hotel. Jason begins dating and a heartbroken Kelly walks in on him with another woman, prompting Kelly to also find someone new. He decides he wants her back and assaults her date at Melanie's wedding.

Derwin Davis
Derwin worries about how to handle his role as a father. He accompanies Janay to a doctor's appointment, but Melanie becomes increasingly jealous.

Melanie Barnett
While working in the hospital, Melanie shows more independence and takes a romantic interest in Dr. McHottie. She goes back and forth when deciding whether or not to stay with Derwin and is unsure how to handle the impending birth of his child. She struggles in medical school and loses her funding. After a lot of indecision, Melanie decides she wants to get married before Janay gives birth to Derwin's love child.

New episodes of "The Game" air Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on BET
