Ambrosia Jefferson
Do you wake up from a night asleep with some of your items moved around St. Patrick's Day? How about on the day of do you suddenly have green foods? Green Markings on clothing, faces and other random places in the house? Well you have no doubt been visited by one of the sneaky little trade marks of Ireland the Leprechaun. Well maybe you and your kids would like to try to trap the little green devils. Well sit down and take some time to make up a trap and you can.

Materials:

Recycled Oatmeal Container

Green Felt

Double sided tape or glue

Crumpled piece of shiny foil

How to make it:

Take the recycled oatmeal container and the green felt. Wrap the green felt around the container securely and use either your double sided tape or glue to keep the felt in place on the oatmeal container.

Cut a small hole in the lid of the container.

Take another piece of the green felt, cut into a circle, and place it over the hole in the lid. By using this technique your little visitor will not see the hole in the top and be sure to fall into the trap.

Place the shiny foil on the top of your trap for the perfect temptation to get your little green friend to fall into the trap.

If you and your kids would like to add some more special treats to your trap container, you could decorate the side with some glitter. You can use shamrock stickers, rainbows anything that shines. Leprechauns are attracted to shiny things and things that they might think are worth money. You can also make a ladder to make it easier for the little guy to get onto the top of your container using twigs or pipe cleaners. Last but not least, make a sign that says stay off or do not climb those little devils love to disobey.

No matter how simple or how decorated you make your trap you and the kids are sure to have a fantastic time talking about the leprechaun legends and just what you might do when you catch them.
