Catholic High Schools in Southern Louisiana

Southern Louisiana is home to two large cities: Baton Rouge and New Orleans. These cities have several Catholic High Schools. These schools sometimes serve just boys, only girls or are coeducational. The schools range in size from about 100 students to over 1,000 students.

As the largest city in Louisiana, New Orleans has several Catholic high schools. Archbishop Hanna is coed and teaches on average just over 200 students in grades eight through 12. De La Salle High School is home to about 500 students in grades eight through 12. Pope John Paul High School has on average about 400 students in grades nine through 12.

Archbishop Rummel is a large Catholic high school that teaches over 1,000 boys only on average. Archbishop Shaw High School has about 600 students each year in grades eight through 12. Brother Martin is another large Catholic boy's school in New Orleans with an average of over 1,000 students each year in grades 8 through 12. Holy Cross teaches boys in grades 5 through 12 and each year has on average just over 400 students.

The largest girls-only Catholic high school in New Orleans is Mount Carmel Academy. The school has over 1,100 students each year in grades 8 through 12. Archbishop Chapelle is another large girls only school with over 900 students each year in grades 8 through 12. Cabrini High School has just under 500 students each year on average in grades 8 through 12. Saint Mary's Academy is a school for girls in grades pre-K through 12 and has about 400 students.

Baton Rouge is the capitol of Louisiana and has a few Catholic high schools. Catholic High School is an all-boys school with over 1,000 students. Redemptorist High School is a coed school in Baton Rouge. St. Michael the Archangel Diocesan Regional High School is located near Baton Rouge and is coed. The school is large and is located on 63 acres with several different buildings.
