Caught with My Pants Down

No Drive-Thru

I'm at work. It's time to go run the office errands. I decide I need to tinkle first. (Tinkle, hee hee, what a cute word.) So I'm sitting in the employee restroom,( That's what we females do - sit) when suddenly there is a horrendous BOOM. And as suddenly a crack appears on the bathroom wall. I don't think I've moved that fast in a long time. (My feet, not my bowels!) I jump up and pull up at the same time. I reach for the stall door and have a second thought. I better flush...

Out the door I go and into the main break room. Ye Gads, the bottom corner of the wall is caved in! Yep,
someone hit the building with their car. (No, we do not have a drive-thru in our building.) OK, so I run across the hall and tell my office mates a car ran into the building. Then I run back across the hall to look out of the break room window (of course). Yep, there's a car bashed into the side of the building. Two people are already helping the driver.

Back across the hall I run to announce, " Yes, it's a car, they have help." (I'm now panting from the full adrenaline rush.) I'm informed the emergency services have been called. Next thing I know the hall is full of employees. Everyone wants to know what the commotion is. It turns out to be an 85 year old driver on oxygen. Her foot slipped from the break pedal to the gas pedal. I'm, pleased to announce she is OK. Her air bag deployed, she's shook up, but she'll be fine. And I'm just thankful she wasn't one car space to the left , Or...
She'd have caught me with my pants down.

Truly a good article. I'm glad you told me no one was seriously hurt. I don't have to feel guilty about giggling through most of the article now.

I'm so glad she was ok (and that no one else was hurt), and that you remembered to flush before running out of the bathroom. :)
