The single packets were just enough to complete the stand up shower in the guest bathroom. I thought I would need more, but there was enough in two packets to complete the entire project.
It was time to remove the old caulking from the guest bathroom. It was quite old, so it gave out well with the use of a putty knife and a screwdriver. After the removal of the caulk and the clean up I was ready to install the new caulking.
First, I opened the packages by snipping off the top. It is not a good idea to tear the packages as you will more than likely not get an even application if you tear. Before opening, I made sure that the product was well mixed inside of the package by lightly squeezing the product. After opening it, and making sure it was well squeezed I began with the right side of the shower, where it meets the tiles, I slowly maneuvered the package across the bottom of the tiles and than used a square to ensure that the application was clean and the product reached all of the places that it was supposed to. I continued this with the back wall, and the left side of the shower. The whole process took less than ten minutes, and two packages and I was very impressed with the results.
Just as the packaging, and the store staff recommended two packages was enough. I chose waterproof caulking, as it was for the shower, and I was not going to paint the tiles. It is available in two varieties, waterproof and paintable.
I was hesitant at first, to use the product as I thought it would be hard to get the right texture, or the product would become stuck inside of the packaging but again, this was not the case. It was so easy to use, that I went to the hardware store and purchased additional packets to have on hand in case I needed a quick fix somewhere down the line.
By visiting the website, I was able to learn more about the product, proper use, and even order a free sample for future use! I was so happy with the product that I don't think I would consider using that old fashioned caulking gun ever again.
The product came out of the packaging very easy, and this is so easy that even those not versed in the do-it-yourself of home improvement could figure this out. I love that it comes in clear, and actually dries clear, as many caulking's don't! This product is going to be in my garage always for all those caulking emergencies.
