Causes of Stomach Queasiness

When a person feels queasy or sick to their stomach after they eat, there is usually a reason for it. One of the problems could be food poisoning. If you have eaten some bad food, and feel, (1) sick to your stomach shortly after the meal, (2) vomiting, (3) bad headache, (4) and tingling all over, this may be a sign that you have eaten bad food.

Food poisoning is something that needs to run the course until the system is rid of the bacterium. If however, it is botulism, this is something else, and you will not only become violently ill, but have vision disturbances, dizziness, and may even be delirious.

Pregnancy can cause a woman to feel queasy after eating. This is due to the body going through many types of changes with the growing embryo. A woman may find that certain scents of foods will trigger a queasy stomach, and certain foods will usually not agree with her.

If you have missed your period, and are having a tired feeling with a stomach on edge, it is time to see about the possibility of being pregnant.

Food allergies can also make a person feel queasy in the stomach once they've eaten. If you have for example, trouble with dairy products, (lactose,) wheat products, (gluten,) these foods will make you feel not only queasy in the stomach after eating them, but you will feel unwell all over, have diarrhea, cramps, and vomiting.

Stomach ulcers may raise such havoc with your stomach lining, that after you have eaten, especially a larger meal, you may feel very upset to the stomach after words. Symptoms of a stomach ulcer are often:

Heartburn is one of the most frequent symptoms of a stomach ulcer along with a burning sensation inside the stomach, (sour stomach.) Antacid s may relieve the pain you are feeling

A gnawing feeling at night during the sleeping hours like your stomach is never satisfied. This is also another very common symptom.

Stomach ulcers may also cause some chest pains.

If you are having any of these symptoms, you should seek your doctor's advice for treatment. Ulcers in the stomach can perforate and then it becomes an medical emergency.

Stomach ulcers can be treated with many types of therapies at once such as proton pump inhibitors, (Nexium) and medications for acid reflux such as Reglan.

In any event, it is important to find out why your stomach is queasy if it is an ongoing symptom all of the time after you eat.
