There are some multiple reasons for why a person may have yellow stools. This article will give just a general overview of the most common reasons for this happening.

When a person is suffering from alcoholic liver disease, this may cause pale or yellow stool color. Alcoholic liver disease results from over drinking. Other than pale or yellow stool, alcoholic liver disease causes alot of abdominal pain, upset stomach, weight loss, fever, abdomen is distended, and jaundice appearances. If you have alcoholic liver disease, it is most important that you stop drinking alcoholic beverages. If you are having other complications as a result of this medical problem, they will also need treatment.

Hepatitis can cause stools that are yellow or pale. This means either hepatitis A, B, or C. Other signs of any forms of hepatitis are abdominal pains, vomiting, dark urine, jaundice feeling weak, and overall pain in the muscles. You contract most forms of hepatitis if you have parasite infections, have taken too much Tylenol, or hepatitis that is autoimmune. Treating any forms of hepatitis will involve the nature of what has caused it.

If you are having some type of a bile obstruction from the liver area, it is another cause of having pale stools. Other symptoms are vomiting, no appetite, fever, and skin is hot. The reasons for a blocked up bile duct can be several including mainly cysts, gallstones, or some types of tumors which are widespread into the biliary area. Once the problem is diagnosed, it is all treated according to what the cause is.

Acute pancreatitis is very painful, and can cause a person to have yellow or pale stools. Acute pancreatitis comes from an inflammation that occurs in the pancreas. There is usually yellow skin (jaundice), pain in the upper right quadrant, and the heart beats irregularly. Certain types of viral infections can cause a person to have acute pancreatitis or overuse of alcoholic beverages. Treating acute pancreatitis involves a stay in the hospital for intravenous fluids, and nothing to eat or drink to help the pancreas relax and recover itself.

Gallstones can also bring on yellow or very pale stools. These can be very painful as they become lodged inside the gallbladder if they grow too big. Along with pale stools, there is usually the passing of a lot of gas, distended abdominal area, vomiting, and heartburn reflux. The gallbladder is usually removed in the case of too many gallstones.

These are some of the causes for yellow stool or pale stool. If you are concerned about anything of this nature, be sure to contact your doctor for advice.
