Caution and Fashion to the Brim

T. Ramaswamy
A recently wed daughter- in -law joined her mother- in -law. In a few months she entered motherhood. It was an occasion for rejoicing for all. The mother- in- law wanted her to take great care of the child in the womb. She told her several cases of miscarriage and explained how they happened. Finally she said the daughter- in- law should leave nothing to chance.

After listening to all that the mother in law said, she broke the long silence and said.

Mother, do not worry at all. I am not new to this phenomenon. Every year during the last five years I have been experiencing this and managing without any problem. I have overcome the difficulties with ease, though no child was born. These days it is a great fashion to have that rare privilege."

Mother- in -law: I salute your skill, confidence and patience. Be fashionable with dogged determination in future also. May your tribe increase?
