Talking and texting on the phone has become a new way to communicate with your friends. It is more convenient and I basically see everybody in New York City do as well with hot cell phones like the iPhone 4 or the Blackberry Bold. However, as for me, I don't have those shiny and internet surfing phones. To tell you the truth, I don't even know what type of phone I have. I always tell myself that if the phone can call, then it is still a working phone. I don't need to walk down 5th avenue and show everybody on the streets that I have an iPhone. The only thing that I need to have on my phone is just the capability to dial phone numbers.
Televisions around my house can be also considered out dated technologies. Through the rooms, I have varying types of televisions that go from a 46 inch Sony television to a small boxed television that I use to play my Wii video games. Due to the past problems about having people smash their Wii Remote into their television, I have chosen to not take any risks and instead play on a low class TV. When I play my games, I can see everything on the screen. The screen brightness is clear and it seems to me that it is still fun to play on. I have discovered that if I can play my games visibly, I will continue to keep this television with me.
Not only do I have a low class phone and television, but I also have a low class computer. Currently, I am on a Dell computer which I think I bought for $20 at a bargain shop. Though it may be 10 years old, I can still use it to surf the internet and grab the information I need. I can type up reports and it can still function.
As shows, many people including me still have out dated technologies. I just tell myself in this troubling economy that if equipment still works efficiently, it can still be used. In these days', we have to find ways to save up on money for the years to come.
