CBS Brings 'I Get that a Lot' Out for Second Helping

Reality Rehash
I Get That A Lot returned to CBS tonight with a new crop of celebrities acting like normal, everyday people. It's a simple concept but works well and hopefully CBS will bring it back for a third run sometime. The first celeb up was Rachael Ray who did a great job fooling some people. Almost everyone they featured knew who she was right away but she played it off well, saying she couldn't cook, bringing out burnt cookies and complaining about all the strange words and things she says. You could tell she felt right at home behind a register, but she claimed it was stressful. In the end most were thrilled to have met Rachael Ray and she was thrilled it was over.

Gene Simmons from Kiss was up next and had one of the more boring segments. He was playing a guru in a psychic shop where two somewhat odd looking people (that acted somewhat like plants) were the only ones to know him. He banged cymbal while a girl was concentrating, guessed cards that producers probably told him the answers too and basically just acted strange the entire time. Let's move on because the rest were great!

Up next we had we had Julie Chen, the one I was waiting to see! She did a much better job then I expected and could have had the best of the night. She made fun of herself by calling herself the Chenbot and played it off well when people thought it was her. I'm glad someone at least recognized her! She put in a few good plugs for the Early Show and Big Brother and even made a lady leave the building by annoying her so much! Who knew Julie had some evil in her? While one woman just wanted her yogurt she kept putting gummy bears in the cup and things got heated! The woman rushed out of the building and I'm glad because I think she was about to punch Julie in the face! Overall a great performance by Julie Chen, maybe because she was the least "famous" of them all but bravo to Julie! Now if she could only show some of that emotion on Big Brother!

Snoop Dogg was great as well as almost everyone came up to him on the street asking if he was Snoop. He played it off well and made almost everyone think it really wasn't him. It didn't help though that he blasted his song in almost all the cars he drove up to the street. Most of them were older women though who most likely didn't know who he was, but luckily most came off the street, some crazies as well, who did. He showed his singing chops and overall had a great gig parking cars. I think Snoop had the second best one of the night as we move on to Tony Hawk.

Tony's gig was in a surf shop where he had to fend off people trying to scuba. A few of the people knew who he was but didn't push it too much like in the others. One kid didn't say a word but at the end of the gig he was excited to have met Tony Hawk. There was also a couple from Holland who took a picture with him just to say they met Tony Hawk BEFORE they knew it was him. Smart people because they now have a keepsake for life! In the end Tony did a great job fending off people but he could have let them in a little more, letting people wonder before shooshing them away so fast.

Last up we had Paris Hilton who had the most touching moment of the night. She even brought another celebrity in as well! Paris was at a gas station and pumped gas for some people. Several knew who she was but she fended them off pretty well. Paris had a very touching moment though when a woman came in to put a dollar of gas in her car. Paris gave her $5 to put in but when she learned that the lady had no more money, she filled up the tank before bringing out one of her magazines. She still didn't know who she was but in the end had a great story to tell. She also pumped gas from the son from Family Ties. I'm sure the two have crossed paths somewhere before but he played along and in the end Paris did a great job and she admitted that it was hard playing someone she wasn't!

I Get That A Lot had a great second helping thanks to a great cast and people they met. Want to see it again? I'm sure if it does well, yet again, CBS will bring it back for a third! Here's hoping.
