As is tradition, however, the show starting early is "Survivor: Nicaragua." The contestants, including former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, begin their quest to outwit and outlast starts on Wednesday, September 15.
CBS's new season rollout officially begins on Monday, Sept. 20 with the season premiere of "How I Met Your Mother," followed by premiere of "Rules Of Engagement." The comes TV's #1 comedy, "Two And A Half Men," and two new series, the comedy "Mike & Molly" and a new revamped version of "Hawaii Five-0."
"NCIS," TV's #1 drama, returns on Tuesday, September 21, followed by the two-hour second season premiere of "NCIS: Los Angeles," last year's #1 written series.
On Wednesday, September 22, "Criminal Minds" returns for more creepy shows that make you check your locks more than once at night (OK, maybe it's just me) followed by the series premiere of "The Defenders."
On Thursday, Sept. 23, a new comedy block premieres in the early prime time hours. "The Big Bang Theory" moves from Monday nights to start the night. It's followed by the new comedy based on the Twitter account "$#*! My Dad Says." The first words is pronounced "bleep" by the way. "Medium" comes back on Friday, September 24 as the new Friday lineup takes form. "Medium" is followed by "CSI: NY," which was previously on Wednesday nights. The new cop drama "Blue Bloods" ends the night.
Real life crime drama "48 Hours Mystery" returns on Saturday, September 25.
Season 43 for "60 Minutes" starts on Sunday, September 26. Something to remember for later is during the fall the start time may be pushed back because of NFL football. Then two reality shows follow. "The Amazing Race" will begin with a 90-minute premiere episode before it begins it's normal hour long shows a week later. "Undercover Boss," the surprise hit of last year, follows the "Race."
Emmy Award-nominated "The Good Wife" returns for its sophomore season on Tuesday, September 28.
Finally, on Sunday, Oct. 3, "CSI: Miami" becomes the last show to premiere for the CBS fall season. The one time "most popular show in the world" will settle in to its new day and hopefully enjoy a bump from NFL football.
