CBS Fall TV, Early Premiere of the Amazing Race

Where Are They Going This Year?

When I learned Amazing Race was not going to be part of the new fall line up of shows I was truly upset since this is, without a doubt ,my favorite show on television, well, especially in the Reality TV Genre....what could be more fun to watch, especially for a person like me who loves traveling as much as I do, then to watch eleven teams of two players each, race around the world to win a million dollars...along the way they have to survive the most dangerous tasks, eat the most disgusting kind of food, travel in the most uncomfortable ways; on old smelly trains in India, on the backs of camels in the Middle East, ride though a crowded town on elephants...Then they have to visit places like the "Church of rats", plummet down the sides of buildings or mountains, ride the rapids in treacherous waters, decipher strange puzzles, etc., as they did in past shows and then have to contend with trying to get to their destinations before the other teams by using every trick in the book to find the fastest airline flight to the next country or continent on the agenda to win each leg of each race in order to continue being in the race.... along the way they can win great prizes if they were the first to arrive...first to arrive means first to leave after only 12 hours of rest before they were off again.

Yes, I was very upset that I would have to wait until January....

But, with the failure and cancellation of CBS's new show Viva Laughlin, after only two weeks on the air, the network decided to air Amazing Race in it's place on Sunday November 4th...having watched Viva Laughlin, for 20 minutes, when it premiered the first show, I can certainly understand why and couldn't be happier to see it gone and the race begin.

This all new Amazing Race, having won the Emmy award this year for Best Reality Program, will be premiering it's 12th season featuring 11 of the most diversified teams ever...They will travel over 50,000 miles to such locations as Croatia, Lithuania, Ireland and who knows where else? I'm sure there will be quite a few interesting and unique places they will find themselves.

The teams will include a goth couple, a grandfather with his grandson, a couple who aren't getting along to well, but are racing to see if they can get themselves back together, two blondes from Los Angeles, a father with his daughter, a married couple who just happen to be lesbian ministers, a brother and sister, a dating couple, a team of best friends. All racing to get to the finish line first and win that coveted Million Dollar Prize.

So now that CBS has decided to air their Emmy winning show a few months earlier then planned, I'm sure their ratings will improve and I know I will be one happy viewer.

Amazing Race will premiere Sunday, November 4th at 8:00 P.M.

This Emmy Award winning show was supposed to air in January but due to the cancellation of Viva Laughlin, after only two shows, Amazing Race will be on sooner than expected.

I love this show. I keep trying to get hubby to try out. He says we'd make complete fools of ourselves.

I love the Amazing Race too! It's such a touching show. Hard to watch the teams being idiotic sometimes, but touching at the end. Check out my article I did on the controversial teams this year...

I LOVE Amazing Race, and so does my family! PS- If you miss it you can watch it on www.cbs.com. Click on "Shows", "Amazing Race", then "Watch It" on the big picture. You don't need a TV card, it's a TV re-run on the Internet.
