Many fans were disappointed with producers who shook up the co-host casting, namely, when Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete were cut. I have to admit I also did not like them taking Leah off the show and like the other fans I was put off by it. Leah was opinionated and funny and the show needed someone like her on it. I personally was not a Holly fan, sorry but I watched her on "Celebrity Apprentice," and did not like the way she back stabbed, manipulated, and acted like a queen.
But Leah was another story. I've been a fan of hers since my teen years when she played Zack Morris' girlfriend on "Saved By The Bell," and later when she starred in "The King of Queens." She is a superb actress with a lot of potential and many fans want to see her on television. Here's hoping Leah gets another starring role because that is when we love her best.
Regardless, "The Talk" managed to go on and many fans, myself included, weathered the storm and continues to watch. Now I have to admit the reworking of the cast was for the best.
I personally adore the addition of Sheryl Underwood, who is one of the most remarkable comediennes. She is bold, unabashed in her opinions, but isn't overly pushy, and is always funny. She is the perfect balance to the show. Especially when the other co-hosts like Sara Gilbert (who I love) and Julie Chen are the more conservative, serious types. Sheryl provides great insight and very much needed, comedic relief to an otherwise serious show.
Sheryl has also starred in films such as "Bullworth," "I Got the Hook Up," and "Beauty Shop." More recently she was host of BET's "Comic View" and "Holla" another talk show, one that she created and produced.
Occasionally, Aisha Tyler co-hosts and I wish they would put her on permanently because she is very qualified, insightful, experienced, and just down right entertaining and sensible.
Fans also love to see Aisha Tyler on the show! they both are truly great additions to the show. Looks like "The Talk" is doing something right after all.
