Artist: Sandra McCracken
Title: In Feast Or Fallow
Genre: Folk Rock / Gospel
I recently had the honor of listening to and reviewing the pre release of Sandra McCracken's new CD "In Feast Or Fallow".
This is a beautiful offering of 15 tracks filled with fantastic songwriting, ranging from traditional and contemporary Gospel hymns to more modern folk rock flavored hymns.
I had never heard of Sandra McCracken before I was approached to do this review of her newest release.
Which is surprising considering she has released over 7 solo CD's spanning her inspiring career as a wife, mother, artist and singer/songwriter.
She has the most soulful voice and style, reminiscent of artists like Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, Natalie Merchant or Patty Griffin. Her music is amazing very well written, arranged, performed, produced and recorded. Her Nashville, Tennessee roots shine through her music and she pours her heart in to crafting each song.
There is a very relaxing and peaceful tone to all her songs, it welcomes you in to praise and worship with the first track aptly named "Petition". Her music is almost universally perfect for any Christian worship service, coffee house or winery, folk music venue and it is just a great listen to help relax and unwind to after a stressful day.
If you enjoy such artists like PATTY GRIFFIN, NEIL FINN, THE WEEPIES, SHERYL CROW, SUFJAN STEVENS
