The Insane Clown Posse is made up of the duo of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. The duo was originally part of a large group called the Inter City Posse. That group broke up and the two kept the initials ICP changing it to Insane Clown Posse in 1992. 1992 saw the release of their first Jokers' Card which was the album Carnival of Carnage. The Wraith albums were the sixth and final Jokers' Card.
The Tempest is the first full length album since the duo finished with all of the Jokers' Cards. The total play time for this new album is fifty nine minutes and forty one seconds. On this new album there are a total of sixteen tracks and they are:
The Sky is Falling - 3:39
Ride the Tempest - 2:51
Alley Rat - 2:10
Haunted Bumps - 3:24
Growing Again - 4:45
Hum Drum Boogie - 3:39
I Do This! - 3:28
What About Now? - 3:24
Watch My Ride - 2:42
News at 6 O'Clock - 4:06
The Tower - 4:14
The Party - 3:12
Bitch I Lied - 4:07
Play My Song - 2:54
Mexico City - 3:31
If I Was A Serial Killer - 7:30"Ride the Tempest" takes people on the tallest roller coaster. Once you are on it then your stuck until it crashes. "Growing Again" tells of Violent J growing into the biggest person, he gets so big that he runs off the planet. "News at 6 O'Clock" is about everything that the news broadcasts for the world to see. What you see on the news is a real horror story and not something from movies, games, etc.
The group received a lot of attention when they signed with a Disney label called Hollywood Records. They refused to release their album after receiving a lot of criticism. Insane Clown Posse runs their own record label that is very successful called Psychopathic Records. They have also released a movie called Big Money Hustlas.
If you are a fan of the Insane Clown Posse then The Tempest is another album that you will love. Tracks 2 and 3 are two of my favorites but I like them all. All of the songs from one to sixteen are good. The Tempest should be hitting number one on Billboards Independent Label chart soon. They are by far the most popular independent band that there is.
