There are definitely certain musicians out there that have earned a right in their careers to justify a solo album and here are two popular upcoming releases you might want to look into, depending on your musical taste that is.
In a couple of weeks we will be seeing the much-anticipated release from the band Emigrate. The founder and mindset behind Emigrate comes from Rammstein's lead guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe. For anyone that doesn't know about Rammstein, they are the extremely popular tanz-metal band from Germany who are very well known all over the world and known for tracks such as Du-Hast for example.
All of Rammstein's music is obviously in German but fans in America are happy to see the lyrics in Emigrate are all comprised of English. Much attention has already been brought to this CD since it landed a spot and video on the up coming Resident Evil movie soundtrack.
Some of the note able songs off Emigrate include My World which is on the Resident Evil soundtrack, Babe which is more of a slower song and fast heavy riff of Wake Up which were all off the official My space page. One other track that was only on the page for a short time was New York City and the song had more of a rock sound, which was different from the other previewed tracks.
The song gives you a glimpse into living in New York City and overall is a very good rock song. Any fans of Rammstein should find that Emigrate won't sound like Rammstein but still offers that heavy guitar work of Richard Z. Kruspe and is definitely worth checking out. The CD is set to release on August 31st.
In October we will be seeing the release of the CD Elect The Dead, from the lead singer of the band System of a Down. Serj Tankian is the mind behind on the CD and has been working on this CD for the past five years. He's stated since they were all so busy with System of a Down for the past 10 years; it's been hard to find time to put the album together.
As most people know, last year System of a Down announced an indefinite Hiatus which doesn't mean they broke up but more less they are just taking time off. Elect The Dead will be a rock album and is said to be very heavy. We were given a taste of what is to come on Elect The Dead with the song The Unthinking Majority. The song is very political but will remind you a lot of System of a Down songs of the past. The song could easily pass as a System of a Down song but it's a different style.
The album will feature around 12 tracks and most the music was comprised using keyboards, pianos, and acoustic guitars but there are distorted guitars so no fear for anyone looking for a heavier sound. This should be a great album for any System of a Down fan out there and should be a good album overall.
The songs have been worked on for the past 5 years and Serj has really put his time into them. Look for Elect The Dead to hit stores on October 23rd and you can download The Unthinking Majority off iTunes now.
