What we like about this preschool:
* Small class size - The children have classrooms where they spend time with their individual teachers. This is much nicer than 20 or 30 children being packed into a big room with several teachers all day long. Lunches, playtime and chapel are done as a group.
* Great teachers - We absolutely adored our two year old class teacher and there were tears on both sides when we had to move up a grade. Luckily, the three year old teachers are very nice. The teachers are there because they love kids and it really shows in the way they interact with the children.
* Christian foundation - It is so nice to have preschoolers wandering around the house singing "Jesus Loves Me" or "The B-I-B-L-E" instead of singing about their lovely lady humps, as a friend's child of the same age was doing the other day! When Christian values you teach at home are reinforced at school, you are well on your way to raising a child that you can be proud of.
* Convenient location - I don't want a school on a major highway, but I don't want to drive a half hour out of my way through a maze of cul-de-sacs either. A school close to main roads is the perfect compromise.
* Nice rooms - I have been into daycares and preschools that feel like moss growing facilities. You probably have been in some, too. They are in basements where the windows are never open. Kids always seem sick and that petri dish environment is perfect for passing those germs around. I like the way the rooms at Lighthouse feel.
* Competitive pricing - The fee is very reasonable and there are some nice options in the package, such as being able to take a week's vacation, during which you do not have to pay tuition.
* Nutritious lunches - The cook really makes some delicious meals for the kids and our little guy looks forward to lunchtime. (If you are considering having your older children attend Lighthouse's K-12th grade classes, you'll need to pack lunch. The hot meals are for preschool age children.)
