Whether you prefer light micro-brew beers or rich, dark ales, there is a brewery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to satisfy your thirst. Each brewery offers their own unique microbrew beers, hand-crafted by brew masters who are continually perfecting the art of making a perfect beer.

Third Base Sports Bar and Brewery on Blairsferry Road in Cedar Rapids, Iowa takes great pride in their beers. They utilize an advanced brewing system and quality ingredients to hand-craft some great tasting beers. Beers currently on tap include Too Many Cooks Saison which is a refreshing pale ale with hints of orange peel and corriander. For those who prefer rich dark ales, consider the Slappy's Smoked Porter with a unique smoke flavor, this beer is unlike any you've had. Also on tap at the Third Base Brewery is the Red Rocker Amber Ale, Golden Hawk Wheat Ale, Flying Aces Pale Ale, Helles Honey Bock and Black Cobra Oatmeal Stout.

To go along with the great tasting micro-brew beers, Third Base Sports Bar and Brewery also offers a full menu of appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and more.

Another popular brewery in Cedar Rapids is Granite City Food and Brewery. Located on the North East side of town, Granite City Food and Brewery offers a full menu of tantalizing foods and a great variety of micro-brewed beers. From the light golden bear of their Northern Light Lager to the Broad Axe Stout, a dark and creamy stout rich with hints of roasted chocolate and coffee, Granite City Food and Brewery provides great handcrafted micro-brew beers. Guest can also enjoy a sampler of all their brews.

Iowa's oldest brewery, Millstream Brewery is just a short drive from Cedar Rapids and located in Amana, Iowa. This charming brewery has several brews on tap ranging from Windmill Wheat, Schild Brau Amber, John's White Ale, Iowa Pale Ale, Hefe"R"Weissen, and Colony Oatmeal Stout. As well as some great sodas made at the brewery including their old time root beer, cream soda and black cherry soda.

Inside the brewery, there is a small gift shop and view of the brewery operation. Visitors can purchase a mug to enjoy outside or a six-pack or two to enjoy at home as well as several other fun gifts ideas. The Millstream Brewery is also home to the Festival of Iowa Beers which features over 50 Iowa made beers. Each made by Iowa breweries or home brew clubs. The festival usually takes place the first Sunday in September.
