Celebrate the 4th of July on a Budget

Amy Brantley
The 4th of July is right around the corner and you may be wondering how you'll ever be able to celebrate the 4th of July on a budget. Along with the expense of a cookout comes the expense of fireworks. None of these items are cheap. If you plan on taking a vacation during the 4th of July, you will also have the expense of a hotel room, gas, and the cost of eating out or fixing meals in your room. It's enough to make people dread the holiday. Luckily, there are ways to celebrate the 4th of July on a budget. In this article you will find ways to enjoy a fireworks display for free, tips for an affordable barbeque, and even vacation tips.

Celebrate the 4th of July on a Budget: Enjoy a Fireworks Display for Free

If you plan on staying home to celebrate the 4th of July, you really should consider doing an online search for fireworks displays in your surrounding area. Many of these displays are free. Here in Western North Carolina there are fireworks displays in every city and they are all free to enjoy. This is a wonderful way to celebrate the 4th of July. I do recommend that you arrive to the event early, because prime locations will fill up quickly. Also don't forget to bring a blanket, some drinks, and a few light snacks. There will, more than likely, be vendors selling drinks and snacks, but these will be expensive. If you want to celebrate the 4th of July on a budget, you need to bring your own snacks and drinks.

Celebrate the 4th of July on a Budget: An Affordable Barbeque

It can be hard to plan your 4th of July cookout on a budget, but there are ways to make a barbeque more affordable. The first thing I suggest is to start looking for deals on meat now. This way you will be able to stock up and have delicious meats available in your freezer. If you plan well enough in advance, you may be able to feed your guests New York Strip steak, because you found a great deal. If you do have to shop a week or so before the holiday, remember to check the sales papers. Many stores will offer wonderful sales that make it easy to celebrate the 4th of July on a budget. A few low cost options, which are always affordable, are chicken quarters (which taste great when grilled), hot dogs, and hamburgers. Many of the side items will also be affordable. But, if you want to truly celebrate the 4th of July on a budget you must make your own recipes whenever possible. Online you will find many 4th of July recipes that are easy and affordable.

Celebrate the 4th of July on a Budget: Vacation Tips

Going on a vacation may not always be the best option when you are trying to celebrate the 4th of July on a budget. But, there are some tips that you can follow. First of all, start saving immediately. Second, book your room as soon as possible. Many hotels will fill up quickly. Also consider other means of transportation. Buses and planes are much more affordable than driving. You may also want to consider a destination that isn't too far away from your home. Also look for free entertainment, like fireworks displays. This way, you can celebrate the 4th of July on a budget and still enjoy your vacation. When it comes to food, it's more affordable to bring your own. You will be able to celebrate the 4th of July on budget easily when you avoid expensive restaurants.
