Celebrate Earth Day with Me!

Katie Sharp-Dierks
Raising awareness of our planets plight,
Earth Day celebrates each little change,
A years worth of effort to do right,
Few know the choices to conserve have a great range.

Recycling is an easy change to make,
Preventing resources from landing in the dump,
What was old is made new again,
Saving other natural resources.

As for traveling,
We can reduce our footprint in old tried and true ways,
Carpooling, biking and hiking.

Our carbon footprint is a measure,
Of emissions we create,
Unknowingly; but simply by adjusting our lives,
We can make changes to reduce it.

Earth Day reminds us to fight global warming,
By being more energy efficient,
By reducing pollution and choosing organic,
It's the little changes that lead to great effects.

Join me this Earth Day,
To look for ways to be more self sustaining,
To plant more trees,
And to educate our world in conservation.
