Celebrate Oktoberfest 2009 in San Francisco and Campbell, California

k. ferguson
Every year it is tradition for Oktoberfest to begin on the third weekend of September and run through the first Sunday of October. It varies from place to place, but many events try to stick to this time frame. There is much history to this event and it is a drinking extravaganza in many locations this time of year. Many people bring out their inner German to dance in the streets, dressed in their best pair of lederhosen and suspenders. Gather your friends and your accordion for Bay Area Oktoberfest!

Here is a list of Bay Area Oktoberfest parties and events for 2009.

Tickets for Friday and Sunday are $30 each, each day, and for either session on Saturday, $35. To attend both sessions on Saturday, you will need to purchase two tickets. They will clear everyone out at 5 pm and start all over again at 6 pm. No pets allowed, only service animals.

Located on the San Francisco Waterfront across from AT&T Park, Pier 48 is very large, 110,000 square feet! Muni Metro and Caltrain are within walking distance to the event. There is plenty of parking as well.
