There are two big parades in Rhode Island for St. Patrick's Day. The first of which is located in Providence. This parade is scheduled to start at noon, rain or shine, on March 10, 2007. It will start at the corner of Elmhurst and Smith Street and conclude at the State House. There are post parade events at Patrick's Pub, which is located at 381 Smith Street in Providence. The second big parade is located in Newport. It is scheduled to start at 11:00 am on March 17, 2007. It will begin at the Newport City Hall and conclude at Saint Augustin's Church. This parade is scheduled to last about 2 hours.
Rhode Island may be a small state but there is still a lot going on for this holiday. Check out the website links at the end of this article for more information on these events. Most local bars will have some kind of a St. Patty's Day theme, so no matter where you go, the luck of the Irish should find you! Remember to party safely though and wear your green hats, shirts, pants, and pins!
