Celebrate the Season with Thanksgiving Coloring Pages and Decorations

Sarah F. Sullivan
Somehow September and October have flown by, leaving us smack dab at the beginning of November and the holiday season. As your children study more about the history of Thanksgiving, whether at home or at school, coloring pages are a good way to help them learn as well as promote creativity.

Take a look below at the following websites that have free Thanksgiving coloring pages for you and your little ones!

ColoringPages.net

This website has ten pages of Thanksgiving coloring pages, including the classic turkey in Pilgrim garb, scarecrows, pumpkins, cornucopias, Native Americans and Pilgrims. This website also contains word puzzles, mazes, Connect the Dots, Cut-and-Paste and Color by Number print-outs.

Funschool.com

While this website only contains four pages of Thanksgiving coloring pages (two pictures per page, save for the last page), it contains a multitude of other fun activities for your children. The website features Thanksgiving themed arcade games, puzzles, jokes and quizzes, as well as a Thanksgiving crafts how-to section (Make a Pilgrim Hat, Pine Cone Turkey). There is even a coloring game online, just in case you don't have a printer with which to print off those Thanksgiving coloring pages.

Coloring.ws

This website contains several Thanksgiving coloring pages, all divided up into galleries so it makes it easier to find a specific picture (Food, Pilgrims, Turkeys, etc.). Connect the Dots are interspersed through the galleries. The website also has many other galleries for when the holidays are through, including Alphabet, Countries and Cultures, Fantasy, Christian (Bible), Birthdays and Sports. It also includes Color by Numbers, Connect the Dots and Dot Puzzles.

When your family has had their fill of coloring, move on to making Thanksgiving decorations for your home! It will be a fun way to interact as a family, as well as beautify your living space in anticipation of the season.

Visit Familyfun.go.com for a variety of do-it-yourself Thanksgiving decorations, crafts and nameplates, as well as Printable Thanksgiving decorations for when you don't have a lot of time to make things yourself.

If you'd like to decorate on your own without the children, Celebrations.com has several Thanksgiving decoration and craft ideas, including place settings, cornucopias, centerpieces and table arrangements.
