Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary Creatively

With summer coming up, many married couples are nearing their wedding anniversary, and are looking for ways to celebrate that special day. While there is always the old standby, celebrating your wedding anniversary doesn't have to be boring. There are many creative ways to celebrate! From sentimental gifts to interesting outings, enrich your wedding anniversary with meaning, and it will always be an unforgettable day.

Framed Pictures And Other Items - Have pictures from your wedding framed for your spouse. Be as creative as you want in the framing. Those pictures tend to fade into nothingness, so dust them off and add spark to them. Write a note to your spouse, telling him/her how much you love them. Or tell them exactly why you love them. Be emotional. If there are any sentimental memorabilia around, such as old tickets or movie stubs, why not frame them? Or do all the above into one collage of your lives together. The possibilities are endless.

Relive A Significant Moment - Every couple has that moment where everything was just perfect. The bond was tight, nothing could go wrong, and the moment seemed to last for eternity (for all the right reasons). Relive that moment in time. Whether a first date, a birthday event, a particular shared interest, recreate it. Even if things don't go exactly to plan, that moment will be front and center in your thoughts.

Do Something You Always Wanted - A wedding anniversary is a perfect time to plan or start something that always got put off until the kids were grown, the house was paid off etc. Maybe you cannot actually do the activity yet, such as travel overseas, but you can bring some of that into the anniversary. Incorporate items and pictures from the place, learn the language, take a class, do something to bring that special activity into your lives. Buy tickets for a local theater if you always wanted to see a Broadway show, or buy a DVD of a Broadway show if available. There are many ways to enjoy what you want now, even if you can't do it perfectly.

Do Something Together - And not the normal day to day stuff. Take a shared interest, especially one that might have been neglected, and use it to reconnect. Just the two of you, no children or other family members allowed. Take a spa day and get pampered. Just break away from the day to day grind and the demands of family for awhile, and remember what is so special about your spouse.

There are many more ways to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Be creative, and make it your own. After all, it is your wedding anniversary, and no one else knows better. Be romantic, do something out of the everyday. Remind yourself and your spouse why you married them in the first place, and most importantly, enjoy their company.
