As the year 2007 comes to an end, get ready for a big celebration to ring in the new year - 2008! If you live in the Memphis area or are planning on traveling to the Memphis area for New Years Eve, the Peabody is having its annual New Year's Eve party. Below, you will find all the details that you need to attend as well as information about the party.

The Peabody is located at 149 Union Avenue, Memphis. For all inquiries or questions, please contact the Peabody at (901) 529 - 4000. The Peabody hotel is located in downtown Memphis. Parking is ample - there are several garages off Peabody and 2nd Street that are reasonably priced. The Peabody Hotel is host throughout the year to several events, and brings in many tourists wishing to see the culture of Memphis.

The New Year's Eve bash will begin at 8 PM, and goes all the way until 2 AM. At midnight, there will be a huge countdown to the New Year, follow by a balloon drop. The cost of attending the Peabody New Year's Eve bash is $45 per person if purchased in advance, and $50 at the door. You must be 21 to attend, and all ID's will be checked at the door. I would highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance and arriving early as the crowd is expected to be large for the New Year's Eve bash this year. I would suggest arriving in downtown Memphis to find parking around 6 PM. There are several great restaurants that are a short walk from the Peabody, including the world famous Rendezvous, the Hard Rock Cafe, Huey's, to name a few.

Throughout the Peabody, there will be three different live bands performing on stage. The performers for this year's New Year's Eve bash include Cowboy Mouth, Lord T and Eloise, and DJ Party Train. Information about the band Cowboy Mouth can be found at www.cowboymouth.com. Cowboy Mouth is a rock band that is from New Orleans.

Whatever you chose to do this New Year's, I wish you a year filled with joy and success. Wherever you decide to go for you New Year's Ever celebration, ring in the New Year of 2008 with style. Remember to be safe and use a designated driver if you are drinking. If you chose to go to the Peabody New Year's Eve bash this year, you could always plan ahead and reserve a room so that you do not have to worry about driving home after the festivities. There are other hotels in the downtown Memphis area (such as the Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn) that are available as well if you plan on going out to Beale Street as well.

Have a safe and happy New Year!
