Celebrate New Year's Eve in Style with Your Kids

Host a Kid-Friendly New Year's Eve Celebration Your Children Will Never Forget

MNM
Ring in the New Year with your little ones in style tonight. You can have just as much fun celebrating New Year's Eve with your husband and children as you could going out to a party. Even better, you won't have to hire a sitter, deal with out of control revelers, pay for parking or deal with drunk drivers on the road.

Here's how to put together an inexpensive, first class New Year's Eve party for your family and any close friends you'd like to invite to an informal, kid-friendly celebration.

* Buy New Year's Eve hats, decorations, paper goods, plastic ware and party favors at Walgreen's or a dollar store.

* Prepare a spread of easy to fix party foods. Make sure you include deviled eggs, mini corn dogs, chicken wingettes and drumettes , popcorn, peanuts and chips. Be sure to have mustard, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, ranch and blue cheese dressings, and celery and carrot sticks on hand.

* Create a nacho platter. Line a large bowl or platter with nachos. Top with seasoned ground beef, refried beans, salsa, hot nacho cheese, guacamole, chopped green onions, sour cream and shredded taco cheese.

* Set up a nonalcoholic bar. Include sodas, plain and flavored waters, syrups and garnishes. Click on the link to find out how to set up a world class nonalcoholic bar.

* Set out a variety of cookies and brownies for dessert.

* Show funny, light-hearted movies that are appopriate for all ages.

* Play good music for dancing, and encourage everyone to shake their booty.

* Stage a karaoke contest.

* Have the kids strut their stuff in an impromptu fashion show.

* Serve a midnight toast of sparkling white grape juice and sparkling apple cider.

    We started hosting a kid's NYE party when our boys were 3...they are 6 and we still do it. The party starts at 5 and we do a ball-drop around 7:30pm...karaoke...lots of food...adult beverages and kid beverages...sparkling cider toast! It's such a great time and a great tradition! This way, people are home in bed early if they want and for the younger kids, they have a blast and can be asleep by 9pm!!
