The Easter Bunny has a busy schedule planned for the 2009 Easter season in the greater Atlanta area. He will be celebrating Easter by making an appearance at several events on April 4th, before Easter.
At 8:30am, the Easter bunny will begin celebrating Easter by attending a breakfast at the Mall of Georgia, one of the largest malls in the country, located in Buford, an Atlanta suburb. After breakfast Easter arts and crafts will be offered for children.
Beginning at 10:30am, the Easter bunny and children of all ages will enjoy the 7th annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Govenors Mansion in Atlanta. Many activities are planned for the day including an Easter egg hunt, an Easter egg roll, egg decorating, a moonwalk and face painting.
At 2:00pm, the Easter bunny will be arriving at George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center in Suwanee, outside of Atlanta. In addition to an Easter egg hunt, activities include decorating Easter eggs and other Easter crafts.
If you and your children are unable to attend any of the events on April 4th, perhaps you can have your own Easter egg hunt on Easter morning, the 12th. That is if the Easter bunny in your family has time to hide the Easter eggs.
Afterwards your Easter egg hunt, you may be interested in attending church services. On Easter Sunday, April 12th, the 65th annual Easter sunrise service at Stone Mountain Park, just outside of Atlanta, is a wonderful choice. Two non-denominational services will be offered, one at the top of Stone Mountain, and the other at the park's Memorial Lawn. Services will begin at 6:15am. Participants may walk up the trail to the mountain top or take the Summit Skyride.
After services, an Easter buffet is always a fun way to celebrate Easter in Atlanta. One of the best in Atlanta is offered by 103 West, a restaurant located at 103 West Paces Ferry. Their Easter Sunday buffet will be served on April 12th from 10:30am to 3:00pm. The spectacular buffet includes roasted prime rib, honey-ginger glazed ham, jumbo crab cakes, roasted chicken breast, sautéed halibut and rack of lamb, plus a large selection of appetizers, salads and desserts. Live piano music will be featured throughout the day.
Enjoy your Easter celebration in Atlanta!
