Celebrating Love with the Perfect Wedding Reception

After vowing to love each other forever and walking out as man and wife from the church comes that well-awaited celebration commemorating the commencement of your marital bliss - the wedding reception. After the wedding ceremony, everything else happens during the reception - making this the longest part of the whole celebration where most of the wedding memories are formed. Choosing a place to celebrate your union as a couple may seem intimidating. There may be a lot of details to consider when planning a wedding reception, but the important trick is just to plan early, systematically and carefully. Taking things step by step keeps you organized and on top of your reception details, assuring you a night (or whatever time of day it is) of pure delight and an event that will always be remembered.

Although choosing a location should be top priority when planning, there are some factors that may consider the decision as to where the reception is held. Most couples have a vision of their ideal wedding reception. Do you want the reception to be ethereal, modern, fairy - tale like or elaborate? Do you want it to be huge or do you want it to be an intimate wedding? These things affect where you may want to have the reception held. Whether it be in a park, a beach, your backyard, in an upscale hotel or in a local hall - it's good to look at and book the site in advance. Popular locations may have to be booked up to a couple of months in advance. A thing to consider when choosing the location is it's proximity to the ceremony venue. Some couples may opt to have their wedding ceremony right at the reception site. If your ceremony is at a church, the city hall, register's office or somewhere else, it is ideal to have your reception at a place that's just near enough and accessible from the ceremony venue. Don't forget to provide your guests with maps from the ceremony venue to the reception site. Other things to consider are the facilities that the site offers. Do they have parking space, electrical outlets, and enough toilets for your guests? Does the site rental include tables, chairs, tents, linens, china and the like - or do you have to provide them? Will you be allowed to have a different caterer, or is the venue strict about food catering coming from them.

Another important factor in the wedding reception is the food and drink. The menu will be determined by a lot of factors. One factor is the time of day that your reception is going to happen. This will determine whether you will be serving breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you have a specific wedding theme, your menu may revolve around that too. You may want to serve a traditional silver four course meal, or you may want to have food stations of buffets set up. There are no rules as to how food should be served, so you can work with your imagination - with the help of your caterer, of course.

Think about the themes and the decorations that you may want to have for your wedding. This will determine the ambience of your wedding reception. Remember that various elements will be important in determining the over-all feel and look of your wedding reception - and careful planning and a lot of creativity will surely give you a night to remember.
