Celebrating Oktoberfest in Orange County, California

Looking for the ultimate place in Orange County, California to celebrate Oktoberfest this season? We've got two that will have you oom pa pahing with the best of them. Oktoberfest is a long held German tradition that dates back to 1812 when the first Oktoberfest was held in Munich Bavaria, Germany. Celebrating the German month-long (and sometimes longer) tradition in Orange County, California is filled with lots of family fun events, great food and an abundance of beer. Two Oktoberfest events not to be missed held in Orange County are at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim, and at Old World Village in Huntington Beach.

Head to the Phoenix Club in Anaheim to Celebrate Oktoberfest
The Phoenix Club, a German cultural center located in Anaheim, will be holding Oktoberfest from mid-September through the end of October every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Guests will find a more authentic Oktoberfest atmosphere here featuring a one acre Beer Garden, German bands, booths with traditional German food and desserts, fun competitions, and much more. Octoberfest 2010 will also feature children's activities that include train and pony rides, kid's entertainment, a petting zoo and balloon artists. Don't miss the traditional pig on a spit cooked three Sundays during the event - September 26, October 3, and October 31. For a unique spin how about ox on a spit? Guests will find this happening on October 10, 17 and 24. Entrance to the event is $5 per person and children under 18 are free. Oktoberfest hours are Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.; Sunday open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Old World Village in Huntington Beach will be celebrating their 33rd Oktoberfest
Old World Village, located in Huntington Beach, holds their Oktoberfest festivities for two months - most of September and all of October. Guests will find numerous activities, plenty of entertainment and some great tasting beer at Old World. Such highlights include: German bands performing every Wednesday through Sunday; Dachshund races held every Sunday at 3 p.m.; and traditional Oktoberfest food to feast on. Bring the kids along and let them experience Kinderfest - a kid-friendly Oktoberfest event. Kids will get to see a live oom pa pah band, play in the bounce house, try their luck at carnival games, and so much more. Kinderfest runs every Sunday during Oktoberfest from 2 p..m. until 7:30 p.m.
