Celebrating a Dog's Birthday with a Party
Believe it or not there are web sites dedicated to planning and hosting a birthday party for your dog. You can go to these sites and order decorations for celebrating your pet's birthday and you can even order a cake and party snacks designed especially for your special birthday pet.
Dog birthday parties are a becoming huge trend for all kinds of pet owners. You can even hirer a party planner to coordinate the celebration for your dog's birthday. The party planner will come in and take care of all the arrangements so all you have to do is enjoy your pet's special celebration.
Dog Birthday Parties of the Rich and Famous
According to MSN.com, Betty Wong owns a bakery in Brooklyn, N.Y. called "Pawtisserie" and she reports that the number of doggie birthday cake orders has been steadily increasing over the years.
Msnbc.com reports that some dogs have parties so lavish that they ride in limousines and wear tiaras to their festive birthday celebrations. Such events can cost anywhere from $100.00 to $500.00 and are all planned by an official party planner.
If this sounds to lavish for you and your pet, you can plan a simple back yard birthday celebration the same way you would plan one for a child. You can find all kinds of doggie invitations on internet sites, or you can make your own on the computer.
Why People Celebrate Their Pet's Birthday
People celebrate their pets because they consider the pet an important part of the family. They also do it for social interaction with friends and family and as a play date for their pet to socialize with other dogs. They also do it because it is fun.
As I stated earlier, I do not throw a birthday party celebration on my dog's birthday, but I do know the date of each of their birthdays. They may get a new toy, or an extra treat that day, but that is the extent of our celebrating.
It is a cute and novel idea that appears to be catching on. More and more bakeries are springing up that cater exclusively to pet food and snacks. Most advertise as being all natural and healthy. There must be a market for it, and there are surely a lot of happy birthday dog's out there. So, what do you do for your pet's birthday celebration?

Thanks for the great article. We celebrate the Fourth of July on Flag's birthday.
Okay, we've been known to have a "tiny" family party here and there. But, after all, she IS a member of the family.
