Celebrities Who Have Famous Parents: A Look at Current Famous Teens and Tweens with Famous Fathers

Which Stars of Today Are the Product of Famous Parents?

D. S. Ploshay
Parents can pass many things along to their children. Aside from eyes, ears and toes children can also get talent passed down to them from mom and dad. Through the years, many famous actors and singers have bred famous children. Today, a new generation of stars are taking after their parents.

Here is a look at some current Hollywood hotshots who were born to famous parents.

Miley Cyrus, daughter of country singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus

Before Destiny Hope "Mylie" Cyrus was even born, her father Billy Ray was tearing up the country airwaves with hits like "Achy Breaky Heart" and "In the Heart of a Woman". While it seemed to take her father many years to gain radio and acting success, Mylie Cyrus's career seemed to skyrocket, of course thanks to her father's genes. In fact, from conception Billy Ray and wife Leticia knew their daughter would be destined for great things, hence their choice of names. As a baby, Destiny Hope always smiled, so Billy Ray nicknamed her "Smiley," which in baby talk transformed into Miley.

The younger Cyrus took an interest to acting when she appeared in one episode of her father's show, Doc. She is now the star of one of the Disney Channel's biggest televisions and merchandising successes, Hannah Montana, where she portrays Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana also stars Billy Ray Cyrus, who plays her father. Miley Cyrus performs all of the music of her onscreen persona both on the show, and in person at concerts where she is in character. Remarkably, she wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on her albums.

Miley Cyrus also appeared in Big Fish as the young Ruthie, and is set to play opposite Raven Symone in a remake of the 80s hit Adventures in Babysitting.

Emma Rose Roberts, daughter of actor Eric Roberts (and niece of Julia Roberts)

Emma Roberts is another child/teen actress who can sing. Emma Roberts made her film debut at age nine as Johnny Depp's daughter in Blow. Her most notable role was as Addie Singer in Nickelodeon's Unfabulous. She also appeared in the film Aquamarine, for which she also contributed a song to the movie's soundtrack. She released an album of her own, to lukewarm results. She also landed the title role of Nancy Drew in a movie set to be produced in 2007.

Emma Roberts' father Eric starred in some popular 80s movies such as Runaway Train and the Coca Cola Kid. More recently, he appeared on ABC's Less Than Perfect and on Heros. He also appeared two Mariah Carey music videos, as well as in the video for Akon's "Smack That," featuring Eminem. Eric Roberts was often parodied in several cartoons and sketch shows for being "Julia Roberts' brother."

Lorraine Broussard Nicholson

Lorraine Broussard Nicholson is the daughter of acting legend Jack Nicholson and his wife Rebecca Broussard. She was chosen as Miss Golden Globe in 2007 and starred as young Samantha in Adam Sandler's Click. She also appeared with her father in Something's Gotta Give. She is slated to play Katie in Fly Me to the Moon, due out in 2007.

Liliana Mumy, daughter of actor Bill Mumy

Liliana Mumy's father Bill Mumy was a star in the Twighlight Zone (Anthony) as well as in other classic television shows and movies. Liliana Mumy played in Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, The Santa Clause 2, The Santa Clause 3 and was the voice of Mertle in the Lilo and Stitch movies. She also played the young Donna on That 70s Show and played in a new Twighlight Zone episode where she played the daughter of her father's reprised character.
