Celebrities in the News: Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Others

I don't really keep up with celebrities, other than NFL players. (I do like my pro football.) I know all about Reggie Bush and his problems with USC and his having to give back his Heisman Trophy. I know that Braylon Edwards just got popped for a DWI. Stupid. He can afford a driver. However, whenever Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, the Kardasians, or the Jersey Shore kids are mentioned, my eyes tend to glaze over and my mind wanders. I don't want to appear totally ignorant of current events though, if the reports on these people can be called such. My granddaughter might mention them. I am the cool grandmother and must work at maintaining that status. (Fortunately, my granddaughter finds this bunch of so-called celebrities rather stupid and boring.) It just so happens that I do manage to find out enough about these people by reading articles on Associated Content.

Priscilla Benfield, for example, recently wrote an article Lindsay Lohan Confesses via Twitter. Who knew? Okay, so I don't follow Paris on Twitter. I do, however, follow Chad Ochocinco.

I found out from Peggy Montgomery that Britney Spears [was] Slapped with Sexual Harassment Lawsuit! Talk about getting your panties in a bunch! (You might have to read the article to understand the pun.)

Of course, there is more LiLo stuff -- as if there were not enough already. Candice L. Collins tells me that Lindsay Lohan Poses Topless -- Pretends She's Kate Moss Loving Johnny Depp. Why? I mean, seriously -- why? Bet Johnny Depp -- an actual actor -- was just thrilled.

There are some articles for which I really look and can't wait until they are published. The best example are the articles by Jeffrey Weeks that deal with the television show Fringe. (I'm addicted to that show!) His two latest deal with upcoming episodes. While I may not really keep up with what all of the celebrities (or those people who are famous for being famous), I do not relish being totally ignorant of pop culture. Thankfully, there are many great writers, who are better writers than the celebrities are celebrities, on Associated Content who keep me informed.
