Celebrities have gone green. I don't mean green as in recycling and conserving energy. We are talking about celebrities that are literally the color green. Green appears to be a trending color for actors and actresses on television shows and movies. Many celebrities hide behind green masks and green disguises. Let's go find some green celebrities!

Wicked Witch of the West From "The Wizard of Oz"

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

All of the teenage mutant ninja turtles are green. The 1990 movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" stars Corey Feldman, Josh Pais, Michelan Sisti, Leif Tilden, David Foreman and Robbie Rist as the voices of the ninja turtles. Six green celebrities disguised as turtles.

Stanley Ipkiss from "The Mask"

In 1994, Jim Carrey turns green in the comedic movie "The Mask." Jim Carrey plays Stanley Ipkiss who is transformed into a crazy super-hero. Cameron Diaz also stars in "The Mask."

Mike Myers completes the "Shrek" movies in 2010 in "Shrek Forever After" along with Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona and Eddie Murphy as Donkey. Mike Myers got to play a green celebrity four times which is hard to measure up to. Jim Carrey comes close with three movies in which he became green.

The Hulk

Eric Bana becomes a green celebrity in the 2003 movie "Hulk." Before the movie "Hulk" came "The Incredible Hulk" television series. "The Incredible Hulk" television series aired from 1978 to 1982 and Lou Ferrigno played the incredible hulk. My stepsister and myself painted ourselves green in our younger days and posed for the camera as we pretended to be a green celebrity monster like the Hulk.

Mike Wazowski

We cannot forget the adorable monster from "Monsters, Inc." where Billy Crystal plays the voice of the one eyed monster named Mike Wazowski. Billy Crystal will be back for more green celebrity fun in "Monsters Inc. 2" which has officially been said to release in theatres on Nov. 16, 2012.

Hal Jordan From "Green Lantern"

Ryan Reynolds plays Hal Jordan in the movie "Green Lantern." "Green Lantern" is the newest movie featuring a green celebrity. "Green Lantern" was released in theatres on June 17 and looks to be a movie full of action, suspense, and comedy. Ryan Reynolds plays Hal Jordan as he hides behind a green costume and green mask making for one green celebrity. A magical green ring chooses Hal Jordan and gives him special powers for the purpose of keeping peace throughout the universe. "Green Lantern" looks to have a Blue-Ray release date of Oct. 25, 2011, in the United States.

It looks as though we will be seeing more green celebrities to come in the future. I do suppose it would be fun to be disguised as a green character. Celebrities hiding behind a green mask or disguise appears to be a trend that is not going to disappear any time soon.
