Celebrities Who Have Used Positive Affirmations to Get Rich

Can Positive Affirmations Improve Your Finances? It Worked for These Celebrities

A few years ago, Rhonda Byrne's bestselling book, The Secret , introduced millions of people to the Law of Attraction and the power of positive thinking (before The Secret, there was Dr. Norman Vincent Peale's book, The Power of Positive Thinking). While there are still many skeptics out there, there are also several celebrities who have been vocal about their belief that positive thinking and affirmations helped them in their journey to success and wealth. Here are some celebrities who have used positive affirmations to get rich.

Suze Orman. What better person to start with than financial guru Suze Orman? Orman has made no bones about the fact that she started out with no money, felt unworthy to work on Wall Street, but then changed her thinking. Orman's most famous affirmation is, "I have more money than I will ever need". She has told viewers to repeat that mantra (or one of their own) over and over again until they believe it to be true. Orman has also written in her books that people must respect money in order to attract money. In her book Women and Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny, Orman advises readers to clean out their wallets and to make sure that all bills are placed inside neatly and in order.

Jim Carrey. Comedian Jim Carrey has long told the story of his rise to fame. One of the most interesting stories Carrey has shared is the fact that well before he was rich and famous, he wrote a check to himself, in the amount of 10 million dollars for "acting services rendered". He postdated the check for 1995 and carried it in his wallet. Carrey also visualized himself cashing the check and what he would buy with it. By the time 1995 rolled around, Jim Carrey was indeed wealthy enough to cash the check (according to the book Jim Carrey by Amy Stone, he never cashed it; Carrey instead put the check in his father's coat pocket after he passed away, as a symbol of his father's dreams and support for his son's success).

Will Smith. Actor Will Smith is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, with a positive attitude that has been his trademark for years. In interviews over the years he has spoken of his need to connect with the universe and that he believes that people control their own destiny. In an interview to promote his movie The Pursuit of Happyness, Smith said, "The idea is that you have command over what your future, what your situation is. That you internally and with your spirit or however you want to put it, the Tao or Muslim Allah or Jesus - whatever that universal force is that you connect to - you, in sync with that force, have command to will your future".

Oprah Winfrey. Oprah Winfrey introduced her viewers to The Secret back in 2007 and while she's been a supporter of the book's message, she's careful to say that the Law of Attraction is just one law that people should use to visualize their dreams. In a 2007 interview, Winfrey told talk show host Larry King, "You really can change your own reality based on the way that you think."

This is a very interesting subject. Of course, thinking positive only works if you are willing to use it as your motivation to actually get the work done! The story about Jim Carrey was really touching. I am glad he has been successful--he has really earned it, as have all of the people you mentioned.

Good article :-) Positive thinking is good esp when you keep your goals in front of you everyday, though I think discipline is equally important myself.
