As the project manager and winner of the "Shooting with the Stars" task Curtis presents a $20,000 check to his charity Feed America. Feed America gets a surprise $20,000 bonus when Clyde Drexler gives them another check from Right Guard.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Project Managers
Considering the task is "Music Makeover" the obvious project manager choices are Cyndi Lauper, Sharon Osbourne and Brett Michaels. Tenacity lets Cyndi take the lead since Sharon is out with the swine flu. Because he has yet to be the project manager on a task, Bill Goldberg steps in for RockSolid stating that he does have Brett on his team who can be his right-hand man. The winning project manager will win $20,000 for their charity. In addition to the $20,000, for the next two weeks when Emily West's "Blue Skies" or Luke Bryan's "Rain is a Good Thing" is purchased on i-Tunes they will donate that money to the winning project manager's charity.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Country Makeover
Celebrity teams are tasked to make over two young country singers, Emily West and Luke Bryan. They also have to coach them for an interview with "PEOPLE Country Magazine", get them ready for a live concert, and prepare a press kit. Mike Dungan of Capitol Records introduces Emily West and Luke Bryan to the teams. The teams have to barter with each other as to who gets to makeover which country star. Emily would prefer to go with the women's team thinking it would be awkward to pick out clothes with these guys. Unbeknownst to Tenacity, before negotiations begin RockSolid has already decided to let the women have the country star they want; thus Tenacity is working with Emily West and RockSolid with Luke Bryan.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Leather and Lace?
Cyndi thinks a leather and lace look would be good for Emily West's new look. Holly is given the task of writing the bio for the press kit. Maria wonders how her modeling experience can help with the makeover.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Dress Like a Cook?
At RockSolid, the guys realize that Curtis and Luke are about the same size so they swap clothes. This also allows Curtis to go on the shopping spree so Curtis can stay behind and be available for other tasks. Brett coaches Luke Bryan for his interview telling him to never let on that you are tired or hung over. Brett begins to work on the press kit with Luke's input but is finding it very difficult as Luke is very specific about how he does or doesn't want things worded.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Girls Just Wanna Shop
Cyndi assigns Maria to oversee the hair and makeup, wanting a Bridget Bardot look for Emily West. Maria also coaches Emily West for her interview; Emily likes her suggestions and even takes notes. While Maria is taking care of Emily, Cyndi and Summer go shopping. Summer finds it hard to keep Cyndi focused as they are on a strict timetable. When they return to Tenacity headquarters they see that Sharon has returned. Sharon is upset that she missed the opportunity to be the project manager for this task as this is what she does for a living and has made over many a music star in her day. Cyndi, in her charming way, lets Maria know that she is unhappy with the way the makeup has been applied to Emily. She is a "young" country star and young people do not need a lot of makeup.
The Celebrity Apprentice: RockSolid's "Real" Project Manager
Goldberg has laid much of the country music makeover on Brett's shoulders knowing that he is out of his element. He and Curtis have grabbed a bunch of clothing to try out for Luke Bryan's new look using Curtis as a model. On the way back to RockSolid's war room they get stuck in traffic and are late for the photo shoot for the press kit. Meanwhile, Bret is improvising in the photo shoot by giving Luke his necklace for a rock star look. Hmmm, Bret - Luke Bryan is a "Country Music" star, not rock 'n roll. When Goldberg arrives he tries to get Luke to smile more for the photos.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Country in Black
So the leather and lace look idea hasn't quite turned out the way Cyndi envisioned for Emily West. The best photo shots are the ones of Emily dressed all in black that give her a look no one has seen before. During a part of the photo shoot, Maria can no longer contain herself and steps in - without Cyndi's permission mind you - to fix Emily's hair.
The Celebrity Apprentice: The Interview
Emily West meets with Cynthia Sanz from "PEOPLE Country" to give her interview. Cynthia has interviewed Emily before and notices a difference between the 2 interviews saying Emily seems more focused this time. When interviewing Luke, Cynthia is aware that Luke is tired and stumbling over his words.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Country Music Press Kit
When picking out photos for the press kit, Bret realizes that Luke doesn't really want to be "made over." He's quite comfortable with the skin he is wearing and is un-open to much change in his public appearance. Tenacity is not happy with their press kit results either, thinking maybe they should have done some photoshopping to a few of Emily's photos.
The Celebrity Apprentice: Country Music Concert
One at a time the country musicians takes the stage to sing one of their songs. Luke Bryan, wearing Bret's necklace and ball cap free, sings "Rain is a Good Thing". Emily West, dressed all in black but not very Johnny Cash-like, sings "Blue Skies" which is a very emotional song.
The Celebrity Apprentice: The Winner of "Music Makeover"
The music executives tell Don Jr. and Trace Adkins what they think of the new looks for their country stars. Emily comes across as too formal for their liking and Luke is serious. One opinion is "Luke needs to smile - he looks too serious." Excuse me? Did they not ask for a makeover for their country stars? Isn't a makeover doing something different than normal - something out-of-the-box?
Maria is disappointed in her childhood idol, Cyndi. Maria feels like Cyndi did not utilize her team enough in the task. Goldberg acknowledges that Bret carried most of the responsibilities for RockSolid in this task. Trace is surprised that Bret did not step up to this task. Bret responds that he has already been a project manager and won money for his charity; it's only fair that Goldberg have a chance to win money for his charity also. The teams look at each other's press kits. Sharon, Donald and the Country Music executives believe the guys did a better job than the women. But what they think doesn't matter. Overall the women did a better job in providing a country makeover, giving Emily West a more polished look than she had before. Tenacity is declared the winner of "Music Makeover" and Cyndi wins $20,000 for True Colors Fund of Stonewall Community Foundation.
The Celebrity Apprentice: The Boardroom
When questioned, Bret and Curtis both say that Bret should be the one fired. Donald questions Goldberg as to why he even volunteered or agreed to lead this task; it's obviously WAY out of his comfort zone. Goldberg responds that he thought he was obligated to step up since he is the only person on RockSolid that has not been a project manager. That's a valid and honest response.
The Celebrity Apprentice: You're Fired
Donald states that Goldberg should not have volunteered for this task. In other words, always go for the obvious choice even if they have led before. Bill Goldberg is the sixth celebrity fired from The Celebrity Apprentice. We'll miss you Bill.
The Celebrity Apprentice "Music Makeover" (episode 6) aired Sunday, April 18 on NBC.
