According to an e-mail circulated between the couple's friends, the couple said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter
"Dexter" co-stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are divorcing after two years of marriage. Hall and Carpenter play brother and sister, Dexter and Debra Morgan, in the series. Fans of the series are wondering what their chemistry will be like after the divorce. Hall was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and is now in remission. There was speculation that his illness drove them apart.

There were also rumors that actress Julia Stiles, who played Lumen on Showtime's hit series, was the cause of their divorce. Stiles made a statement that she was not the source of their split according to Entertainment Weekly.
