Celebrity Charm School

My List of a Few Celebrities Who Definitely Need to Be in Attendance

I must admit that I was strangely addicted to VH1's "Charm School". From the first show to the last, I watched intently every Sunday night. I even used my DVR to record some shows to play over and over again. I was extremely pleased to see Saphyri win the top prize. I felt that she made a legitimate change while taking the time to be featured on the show. Watching "Charm School" on VH1 was not just about seeing how the weekly challenges unfold. It was also about seeing the girls in the house make steps towards becoming more stable individuals.

Each of the shows contestants was chosen from appearances on the hit VH1 show "Flavor of Love". The women were ultimately selected because they displayed less than flattering behavior on "Flavor of Love". Watching these otherwise unknown women make life changes on the show was interesting but, I propose that VH1 turn it up a notch. What about people we see more footage of than anyone else? Our beloved and troubled celebrities. Thus, I have complied a list of celebrities who need more than a few lessons in Charm School.

The first celebrity offender is Dustin Diamond. Many people remember him as the lovable nerd Screech from the Saved by the Bell series. Sadly, life did not imitate art. In the years since his Saved by the Bell fame, Dustin Diamond has been heavily engaged in more outrageous behavior. From "adult" video stardom to abrasive hostility on Celebrity fit Club, Dustin Diamond is desperately seeking attention. He would get all the attention he needed while enrolled in Charm School and learn how to conduct himself in an appropriate manner. Dustin Diamond needs to learn restraint as well as self respect before he blows up at the wrong person and gets seriously hurt.

The next celebrity offender is Rosie O' Donnell. Once celebrated as "the queen of nice" she has managed to become the topic of hundreds of gossip headlines. Who can forget her highly publicized feud with Donald Trump or her rude comments about Star Jones? While Rosie may be knowledgeable about some issues, she needs to work on her delivery and subsequent composure. As a former avid watcher of "The View", I was deeply saddened by her behavior towards her co-hosts. Perhaps a few sessions in Charm School would soften the anger which has become Rosie O'Donnell's new trademark.

The next celebrity offender is the ever popular Paris Hilton. Paris Hilton proves that being one of the most recognized faces in the world does not make you well graced. Fame should not excuse anyone from reckless behavior. Her list of offenses is long and would make any parent ashamed. It includes criminal charges as well as violations of self respect and personal responsibility. A few sessions in Charm School would help Paris Hilton understand that life is precious and can be taken away at a moment's notice.

The last celebrity offender is Akon. Although Akon is a popular singer, other antics have landed him in the headlines. Not only did Akon pull an underage girl onstage to perform a raunchy dance, he has been filmed throwing a fan offstage. Akon needs to learn the simplest principles and keep his hands (and otherwise) to himself! Bad behavior such as this should not be tolerated. Akon needs to learn these lessons quickly before he winds up in a jail cell.

I, too, watch the Charm School shows (including the one based on Rock of Love). I LOVE your list of celebrities who need some help. I think that is brilliant. Perhaps we could also throw Dennis Rodman, Madonna, and Naomi Campbell in the group. Some of these older stars have spent a lot of time defending their less-than-charming actions. :)
