Celebrity Custody Battles: Mel Gibson Battle's for Custody -Tiger Wood Custody Agreement Reached

The media have had an absolute feast of celebrity scandal, celebrity divorces and sadly celebrity custody battles. Celebrity scandals like Tiger Woods, Tiki Barber and Jesse James dominated the early part of 2010. Sadly, the children involved appears to be overlooked in one way and overexposed in another. In recent news, Mel Gibson has been accused of not paying child support by his x-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The mother of his young daughter, Grigorieva, is seeking full custody of the child born only weeks after Gibson's wife of 28 years filed for divorce in April, 2009. Mud-slinging reached dizzying heights with both sides seeking restraining orders against the other just few months ago. In an attempt to end the public battling, Gibson offered Grigorieva $20 million but only if he also had joint custody of their daughter.

In each of these high profile breakups marred by sex scandals and infidelity, unfortunately there are children involved. Fortunately, some of the children involved are young enough to not fully understand the circumstances that led these parents to divorce or split up. Responsibly, these parents finally ended their strained unions and opted to go their separate ways. Such hostile environments that most strained relationships existed under could not be pleasant for the child caught up in the madness.

Former NFL star Barber left his 11 year marriage to estranged wife Ginny for his former NBC intern Tracy Lynn Johnson. The story did not end there as Barber and Ginny were also expecting twin girls at the time of their split. Barber was banned from the delivery room and forced to watch from outside the operating theater during the birth of the twins born May 2010. The estranged couple also have two sons. According to reports, the battle for custody is expect to have major tug of war aspects. Ginny is expected to have full custody of the twins. However, the final custody resolutions has yet to be reached or confirmed.

Golfing legend Tiger Woods on the other hand is said to be finalizing his divorce from estranged wife Elin Nordengen. Elin is reportedly to receive a $100 million and retain full custody for their two children. The settlement also holds Elin to an unbreakable confidentiality agreement. The shocking split of Oscar winner Sandra Bullock from bad boy Jesse James made headlines daily for months after news of James' serial adultery and affairs broke in the press. James had been outed by numerous mistresses over affairs that transpired during his 5 year marriage to Bullock.

Bullock was devastated but at the heart of the scandal were James' children with his ex-wife. The youngest of James' children, Sonny, had development an attachment to Bullock's who was the doting stepmom to the trouble young girl for several years. In addition, Bullock confirmed her adoption of a young boy born in New Orleans just as her divorce papers were being filed in Texas. Meanwhile, James and his ex-wife continue to battle for custody of Sonny. Unfortunately, this has once again drawn Bullock into the matter of the child's welfare and future stability.
