Recently, Woods was cleared of false paternity claims made against him by former mistress Devon James. James first made the claim in June, but by August a Florida court officially dismissed the claims and cleared Woods of responsibility. Woods and his estranged wife Elin Nordegren are said to be in the final stages of finalizing their divorce. According to Woods lawyers, Woods is banned from dating during his divorce proceedings. He is also forbidden to have any female he may be dating in the future around the children unless the relationship is serious.

According to reports, Elin will retain full custody of their two children but fears unsavory females being around their young and impressible children. There are rumors linking Woods to a possible reunion with Rachel Uchitel, his mistress at the time of the sex scandal revelations in the media last October. Woods and Elin divorce settlement stipulates that Elin can never discuss the details the marriage or her estranged husband.
