Celebrity Nail Trends 2010

Just as a celebrity always seems to have flawless hair or makeup, their nails are usually perfectly cut and polished to match whatever it is they're wearing. Thankfully, amazing looking nail polish is not limited to just celebrities. Glamour Magazine offers 6 stylish trends and colors to use on your nails, all of which you can do on any budget.

Metallic- If you're looking for a high-impact glam look, try a metallic polish. Look for a color in bronze, gold or silver to add sheen to any outfit. Try: OPI's DS Illuminate.

Mint- Pale green polish is perfect for those who want a subtle, light color polish. The pale green, although not a traditional color, pairs well with just about anything in your closet. Try: Sally Hansen Mint Sprint Creme.

Matte- One new trend with nail polish is the matte look. Despite the non-glossy topcoat, matte nails look refreshing and offer a different appearance than regular polishes. You can also purchase a matte finisher, which allows you to add a matte topcoat to any of your favorite glossy colors. Try: Orly Purple Velvet.

Purple polish- One celebrity trend you can wear all year long is purple polish. Whether it's a softer purple like lilac or a vibrant eggplant shade, purple pairs well with pretty much anything. One tip when using dark colors is to keep the nails short to prevent your nails from looking garish. Try: Sally Hansen Lively Lilac Creme.

Statement jewelry- One trend seen on celebrities or runways is pairing dark polishes with large, statement rings. Pair black or charcoal polishes with chunky cocktail rings for a dressed up look. Try: Target Statement Rings.

Bright red- While I'm not one to have long nails, longer bright red nails are making an appearance on many celebrities. Go for the old-style glamour look and grow your nails just slightly and paint them a bright, coral red. Try OPI Thrill of Brazil.
