Celebrity and Red Carpet Beauty Secrets

During the awards season, many celebrities attend various awards shows, and they are expected to look their best. For a good reason. Many of these stars have constant work because they are beautiful and larger than life. The awards shows only reinforce that idea. While the celebrities are normally beautiful in their day-to-day life, the awards shows give them the chance to dress up for a night, and really have every detail come across as perfect. But that perfection comes at a very difficult price. Here are some of the things that your favorite celebrities go through so that they can look perfect for their big night.

Hair. Of course any celebrity wants their hair to be perfect. Women cannot afford to have one hair out of place on the red carpet. So they use a variety of tricks to achieve that flawless look. First, beauty contestants almost never wash their hair the same day. It's too clean and there are not enough oils for a great shine. They will leave wash it about two or three days before, and it's much easier to style it and have it shiny. For the red carpet, stylists sometimes use spray on laundry starch, which helps control flyaways.

Eyes. No big star wants to walk down the red carpet with red, inflamed eyes. But due to the many parties, or just a restless night of sleep before the Oscars, their eyes might not look their best. Visine is essential, but just as widely used is hemorrhoid cream. It is designed to reduce inflammation, albeit in a different area. Although the cream is not recommended for use around the eyes, it works in the same way. It constricts the blood vessels and reduces swollen eyes. Instantly, the bags are gone.

Sweating. Because the gowns that stars wear can soak up and spread stains over a wide area, they really want to avoid sweat stains. This is one of the most extreme things that stars do for the red carpet. In order to keep from sweating on the red carpet, many stars turn to botox. The only difference is that the botox injections are shot into their armpits. It works the same way as on the forehead. By paralyzing the sweat glands, they cannot produce sweat, and therefore the star is sweat-free, even on the warmest of days.

Bust. Stars often use double-sided tape in order to hold gowns up. They know that a plunging neckline can be a disaster if they accidently slip out of their gown, so they apply double-sided tape so that it holds them in the dress. There are special products that help with this, but they all function in the same way. The actress is taped inside her dress. Also, if she wants a little more cleavage, she can insert a skin-tone piece of plastic, called a "cutlet" because it looks like a chicken breast. This cutlet blends in with the actress's natural skin-tone, and adds a cup size.

Waist. Stars often turn to corsets or a girdle to pull in their waist for those especially tight-fitting dresses. Also, there are some undergarments, such as the Spanx brand, which provide some definition to their stomach.

Muscles. If a star has not been visiting the gym as often as they should, their are secrets that can help them have the perfect muscle definition, without ever doing an extra set of crunches. Often, a special airbrush artist is called in, and they apply an airbrush tan. They use different colors, and darker colors form lines which make for a more chiseled appearance. It is the same as painting a portrait of a muscular person. If you apply a darker area, it makes it seem as though there is a shadow there. It brings those muscle groups to the front, so they are more noticeable.

Lips. In order to achieve a perfect smile, the star will often apply a small amount of Vaseline inside their mouths. It helps them smile a little more easily. Also, it's great for making their lips smooth.

Although some of these tricks seem extreme, the celebrities are well-paid, and in their circle, it is considered acceptable to go to all these extremes. Some of these are even usable at home for a more flawless look if you have your own special evening. While something such as botox in your armpits is something that is probably best avoided, many other ideas are feasible. Try certain things such as hair extensions or a little Vaseline in the inside of your mouth to help you look your absolute best for your own big night.
