Celebrity Rehab Season Three Cast Announced

The Third Season of Celebrity Rehab with Doctor Drew Will Be Starting in 2010

The third season of Celebrity Rehab has announced who will be in the cast, and it looks to be quite an intriguing season. Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky is a reality-type show that has been airing on VH1 for the past two seasons. It became pretty popular as the show depicted celebrities who have had problems with alcohol or drugs (and sometimes both) and showed the struggles that they went through in order to overcome those addictions. The success that the first two seasons found on VH1 has turned into a third season that is already going into filming.

The premise of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky is simple enough, but the problems that he deals with on the show aren't always that easy. Some of the celebrities accept the challenge of the program, seeing it as a way to really fix their lives and get on the right path, while others become stubborn on the show, and resent the implications that they need help with their behaviors. It is that balance that the show gets its ratings from, and while there are successes on the show, there are also some disasters along the way. Season three of the show should be nothing different in that formula.

The Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky season three cast is going to consist of Mackenzie Phillips from One Day At a Time, Heidi Fleiss, actor Tom Sizemore, former NBA star Dennis Rodman, country music star Mindy McCready, America's Next Top Model Lisa D'Amato, Alice in Chains' Mike Starr, Joey Kovar from the Real World Hollywood on MTV, and Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche. It is definitely a mix of both genres and backgrounds that will make up the third season, so there seems to be personalities that can interest many genres of viewers.

The show will go into filming, but episodes aren't going to be viewed on VH1 for a little while. The new season of the show will air sometime in early 2010 (winter or spring) and will consist of eight one-hour episodes. It will follow a familiar format as Dr. Drew tries to break down walls with the celebrities as they come to his clinic, and it will be interesting to see who from the group is able to make a breakthrough in the coming season. Stay tuned to learn when the exact date for the season premiere will be. There are sure to be some break-downs along the way, but it is definitely going to give viewers a new perspective as to what makes this group of people work, and how bad some of their addictions have become over the years.

I like Dr. Drew. I'm not crazy about this show, however. But, man, did they scrape the gutter with this cast. Just the first three you named was enough...
