Celebrity Tattoos Last Long After the Relationships Fade

According to Media Takeout, rapper Nas is looking to erase the memory of his ex wife, Kelis, by erasing her likeness off his forearm. The ex-couple, who have a child together, divorced last April citing irreconcilable differences. And now Nas wants that classy piece of ink featuring his ex wife topless and fondling herself off his arm. According to reports, he will be in LA this week to start laser removal surgery.

The rapper is following in the footsteps of other celebrities in high profile relationships that have chosen to honor their love in a more permanent way than they should have.

Producer, Jermaine Dupri made a similar mistake when he got a tattoo of his ex, Janet Jackson as the Virgin Mary on his side. The couple, who had been dating for seven years, split last year. At least he had the decency to keep Jackson clothed in his body art. And though his tattoo isn't as exposed as Nas's, it's also three times bigger. It could be worse for them both. At least they don't have a tattoo of themselves covering their entire back, like Steve-O of Jackass fame.

Other celebrities are a little more subtle and just go the name route. Among them are Johnny Depp who got a tattoo reading "Winona Forever" while he was dating Winona Ryder back in the early '90s. This tattoo is stupid for two reasons. First, because he had to alter it after their separation and second, because when you get a tattoo of someone's name, the "forever" is implied. Depp's tattoo now reads "Wino Forever."

No discussion about celebrities with tattoos of their exes would be complete with perhaps the most infamous of all, Angelina Jolie's tattoo of Billy Bob Thornton, which read "Billy Bob" above a dragon tattoo on her arm. Less well known is the fact that, Billy Bob got her name tattooed on his bicep as well. He replaced it with an angel and the word "Peace" and she removed both the name and the dragon and replaced them with the coordinates of where each of her children were born.

Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson also inked up to celebrate their love for each other. She got "Tommy" wrapped around her ring finger. He got her name tattooed on his penis. She later replaced his name with "Mommy." You know what? Tattoos are the least of their worries so we'll leave it at that.

Another celebrity couple to suffer from the couple's tattoo curse are Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards. While they were married, he got his name tattooed on his ankle and he got hers tattooed on his wrist. He got it removed after she filed for divorce and if you are one of the five people that watch her reality show, "It's Complicated," you saw her cover up her ankle tattoo with a fairy.

These are just some of the most high profile splits that really left a mark. There are many others who make the same mistake as these failed couples. No one seems to learn from their mistakes and think before they ink.
