Celtic Baby Names

Unique, Meaningful and Underused

Tracy DeLuca
Picking out baby names is one of the funnest and most frustrating parts of having a baby. Whether you are looking for a unique name that no one else has or a name with a history that will have meaning to you and your child, it can be difficult to weed through the millions of baby names out there. Celtic names have a lot of history and meaning attached to them. They are also rather unique. While some of today's more popular baby names have their roots in the Celtic or Irish language, there are tons of names that no one has explored or used in recent years. Here are lists of some of the most interesting and meaningful Celtic baby names for both boys and girls. Whatever baby names you choose as your favorites, these should give you a good start on options.

All of these baby names are names that are not commonly used. There may be variations of these names but not in this form. I have given the Celtic meaning next to each baby name. I love all of these baby names and if I decide to have more children then I will be drawing from this list myself! The majority of these names are pronounced the way that they are spelled. There are one or two exceptions and I have noted pronunciation next to them.
